Denise Richards Details Alleged Abuse in Divorce from Aaron Phypers

Appearing on the August 3 episode of the Dumb Blonde Podcast, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star described Aaron Phypers as a man who transformed into someone unrecognizable over their eight-year relationship. Richards claims the abuse began shortly after their wedding, noting that her husband’s immediate remorse after the first incident led her to downplay the severity of his actions. She eventually sustained a black eye following a police intervention at their residence, an encounter that forced her to confront the reality of her environment.

Richards admitted that the psychological toll left her feeling trapped and unable to fathom an escape. She refuted allegations of infidelity and abuse leveled against her by Phypers, though she acknowledged sending inappropriate texts to another man. By July 2025, the situation culminated in a temporary restraining order, which was later upgraded to a permanent injunction in November. Phypers is now legally required to remain 100 yards away from the actress until 2030 and is prohibited from owning firearms. Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Richards continues to maintain an active career, with recent appearances on The Bold and the Beautiful and a new film, Dirty Hands.
