Rockwell Automation and Tekna Partner on Tire Quality Systems

The initiative leverages Rockwell’s digital transformation expertise alongside Tekna’s specialized machine vision systems. By deploying these tools, Prometeon seeks to increase inspection consistency across its truck, bus, and radial tire segments. The project also incorporates consulting services from Kalypso, a Rockwell subsidiary, to integrate the new inspection capabilities into the manufacturer's existing digital infrastructure.

Luca Galluzzi, country director for Rockwell Automation in Italy, noted that the project creates a framework for more reliable manufacturing outcomes. For Prometeon, the transition is part of a broader strategy to improve data-driven decision-making. Bruno Lodi, chief manufacturing officer at Prometeon, stated that the technology is critical for strengthening process standardization and long-term digital maturity. Michele De Stasio, CEO of Tekna, emphasized that combining machine vision with industrial data analysis allows for more repeatable quality control, reducing the reliance on human-led inspection processes in high-volume environments.
