Rockelle rose to prominence through family-friendly YouTube videos, but the platform’s decision to demonetize her channel in 2022 forced a pivot. She admitted that had her original career path remained viable, she likely would have stayed on YouTube. Instead, she spent a year recalibrating her life before launching her account on January 1, months after her 18th birthday in August 2025.
Addressing criticism regarding the timing of her debut, Rockelle pushed back against the idea that she rushed into the industry. She emphasized that the delay between turning 18 and launching her account was intentional, designed to help her navigate what she calls a "very gray area." While she acknowledged that the choice carries stigma and might not satisfy her critics—or even herself in the long run—she maintains that the transition allowed her to stop performing for an audience that expected her to remain a child star. Despite reports of significant initial earnings, she frames the move as a reclamation of her autonomy rather than a desperate financial play.
