Kait Stephens, CEO and co-founder of Brij, noted that the partnership began with an unsolicited email from Cano expressing interest in the startup’s technology. The collaboration has since evolved into a deeper advisory role, with Cano providing critical feedback on how the platform manages data across complex, large-scale retail organizations. Stephens highlighted that Cano’s expertise has been instrumental in refining Brij’s value proposition, particularly in helping the company articulate its financial benefits to CFOs and private equity partners who prioritize efficiency gains and incremental revenue.
Beyond technical guidance, Cano has pushed the startup to consider the broader retail ecosystem, specifically how software can support both brands and retailers simultaneously. His involvement focuses on solving the persistent challenge of tracking return on ad spend (ROAS) when a customer engages online but completes a transaction in a physical store. For Brij, this insight has been essential in reshaping their messaging to align with the rigorous performance standards required by major retailers.
