The new retail hub features more than 1,000 home and lifestyle brands, including over 30 international labels making their debut in China. Central to the store’s layout are 33 distinct "Dream Homes," which showcase varied living situations and family structures. These settings include contributions from designers Kelly Hoppen, Shuhei Aoyama, Takashi Honma, and Wang Heng, who utilizes Song dynasty-inspired aesthetics to create a multi-generational living space.
Billy Bao, Head of 101HOME at JD.com, described the project as an attempt to surpass traditional retailing by merging home design, lifestyle trends, and social experiences. The store integrates the company's JoyAI and JoyInside technologies to demonstrate smart applications for kitchens, bathrooms, and health management, supported by a fleet of robotic assistants. Beyond furnishings, the space functions as a cultural destination, hosting a curated selection of cafes and bistros—such as Kyoto’s Here and the Japanese-French Foyer de Lumiere—alongside an extensive collection of over 300 Burgundy wines and seven permanent art installations.
