Public Introduces AI Agents for Prediction Market Trading

New York brokerage Public is integrating prediction markets into its platform, allowing investors to wager on real-world events or task AI agents with executing trades based on market probabilities. The rollout marks an attempt to bridge the gap between speculative event-based betting and traditional portfolio management strategies.

The platform now offers access to markets spanning crypto, commodities, climate, economics, and corporate events. By partnering with the CFTC-regulated exchange Kalshi, Public enables users to hedge risks or capitalize on specific outcomes, such as Federal Reserve interest rate shifts or regulatory approvals. Users can either trade these events manually or configure AI agents to monitor probability fluctuations and automatically adjust their holdings in stocks, bonds, or options.

Leif Abraham, co-CEO and co-founder of Public, stated that these tools provide investors with a new signal source for active portfolio construction. For instance, a user might instruct an agent to execute a stock purchase if the probability of an FDA approval crosses a specific threshold, or purchase put options if the likelihood of an earnings miss climbs above 60%. This infrastructure aims to automate complex decision-making processes, shifting the platform toward an agentic brokerage model where software acts on behalf of the investor based on real-time data inputs.
