The litigation centers on claims that York Space Systems misled shareholders in its January 2026 IPO registration and subsequent public filings. Plaintiffs allege that the company concealed critical onboard software failures that persisted even after satellites were deployed into orbit. These technical deficiencies reportedly threatened the company’s ability to meet delivery milestones and jeopardized lucrative, multi-hundred-million-dollar agreements with the U.S. Department of Defense's Space Development Agency.
According to the complaint, these undisclosed risks rendered the company’s public assertions regarding its manufacturing scale and technological reliability materially false. Hagens Berman partner Reed Kathrein is spearheading the investigation, focusing on when senior management became aware of these operational shortcomings. The firm is also encouraging whistleblowers with non-public information to come forward, noting that such disclosures could qualify for SEC reward programs.
