Amazon Workers in New York Launch Unfair Labor Practice Strike

The grievances center on high conveyor belt speeds and a chaotic work environment where falling parcels and aisles obstructed by packages have become routine. Javier Rivera, a warehouse employee, described a culture of dismissal where management routinely ignores documented safety concerns. Employees also report that their attempts to raise these issues on the company’s internal digital boards are met with censorship rather than resolution.

Beyond immediate physical hazards, workers are challenging the company's labor-sharing policy, which frequently reassigns staff to unfamiliar departments without adequate training. This practice, according to the workforce, is designed to facilitate unfair disciplinary write-ups. Scott Spath, another staffer at the facility, stated that the decision to strike serves as a response to the company’s lack of accountability. The workers, supported by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, intend to maintain the picket line until the facility addresses these labor practice violations.
