His background includes a focus on AI-driven workflow automation, a skill set Knack intends to leverage as it bridges the gap between rapid application development and healthcare security. CEO Derek Hutson noted that the industry currently struggles to adopt agentic development tools due to persistent compliance risks, a barrier he expects Costantino to dismantle.

This leadership change follows the recent launch of Knack’s MCP server, which integrates AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Replit directly into a HIPAA-compliant backend. By providing a secure foundation for these tools, the platform aims to allow medical organizations to build custom software without the traditional friction of security audits. Costantino will now oversee the product team, tasked with refining this specialized infrastructure to ensure that innovation in healthcare does not come at the cost of data integrity.
