The decision to return to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was not made lightly. NBCUniversal executive Noah Samton explicitly offered Cosby a full year of leave, assuring her that her position on the show would remain secure whenever she felt ready to return. Instead, Cosby found that the structure of filming provided a necessary distraction. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, she explained that sitting at home would have only allowed her thoughts to spiral, and she believed her son would have wanted her to keep pushing forward.
Her castmates have rallied around her during this period. Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow, Bronwyn Newport, Whitney Rose, Angie Katsanevas, and Heather Gay provided support as Cosby navigated the season. Marks, speaking ahead of the season seven premiere, described Cosby’s resilience as an inspiration, noting that the cast’s interactions often put the trivialities of reality television into perspective. While the production team respected her privacy—most notably during the private funeral held on March 7, where guests were required to surrender their phones to keep cameras away—Cosby leaned on her faith and her colleagues to manage the weight of her loss.
