SecondSight Secures Series A Funding and Appoints Jamie Bouloux as President

Insurance technology firm SecondSight has closed its Series A funding round and appointed industry veteran Jamie Bouloux as President. The move signals a strategic expansion for the Bloomington-based company, which aims to transition its SHAPE operating system from cyber-specific origins into broader insurance market applications.

Bouloux, formerly the CEO of Ryan Financial Lines and Celerity Risk, brings nearly two decades of experience across cyber, underwriting, and specialty insurance. His mandate involves guiding the company’s commercial strategy and overseeing a team of industry specialists as they scale operations. CEO Reuben Vandeventer noted that Bouloux’s background as a practitioner allows him to bridge the gap between technical AI capabilities and the practical demands of the underwriting desk.

SecondSight’s platform, SHAPE, utilizes a Large Quantitative Model architecture that analyzes an insurer's internal data—such as premiums, claims, and exposures—rather than relying solely on general-purpose language models. By applying algebraic geometry and topological methods, the system identifies risk patterns and provides traceable evidence for decision-making. As KPMG research indicates that 77% of insurance executives view enterprise AI architecture as critical to future competitiveness, SecondSight is positioning its technology to replace legacy systems that often fragment critical risk data. The company plans to introduce additional senior leadership hires in the coming weeks to further accelerate its market reach.
