Ben Affleck admits to trash-talking kids in Fortnite

“Twelve-year-olds just f-ck you up,” Ben Affleck admitted during a recent appearance on the New Heights podcast. The Hollywood actor revealed that his attempts to bond with his son over Fortnite have resulted in humiliating defeats and fiery, profanity-laced arguments with young opponents who show no respect for his celebrity status.

Affleck, who previously enjoyed games like Madden, found the mechanics of Fortnite a humbling departure from his usual experience. After being eliminated early in matches, the actor often finds himself the target of aggressive taunts from pre-teen players. Rather than logging off, the 52-year-old occasionally engages in the fray, shouting back, “I don’t suck, I’m a grown man!”

His struggles with digital life extend beyond the gaming console. In a recent conversation with Variety, Affleck disclosed that he was banned from Instagram twice for impersonating himself. He had created a private account with only six followers—mostly his children and their friends—solely to keep track of his family's online activity. Ultimately, these experiences have reinforced his decision to avoid social media, as he believes maintaining an illusion is essential for an actor’s craft. He argues that constant public updates, like seeing what performers eat for lunch, do not enhance the audience's appreciation for their work.
