Palm Beach County Opens First Residential Campus for Adults with Disabilities

Florida ranks 49th nationally in support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a deficit The IDDeal Place—Ruttura Family Campus aims to correct. On Tuesday, June 23, the facility hosts its grand opening in Greenacres, marking the debut of a rare, purpose-built residence designed to foster independence and lifelong security.

The new campus at 5700 Bentbrook Blvd. offers a permanent housing solution for a demographic often left without specialized options. By providing a structured environment that emphasizes safety and dignity, the project addresses a critical housing shortage facing families across the state. This site represents only the eighth residence of its kind in Florida, serving as a model for community-integrated care.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony features Florida State Senator Tina Polsky and State Representative Anne Gerwig alongside Pulte Family Charitable Foundation President Nancy Pulte Rickard. The event highlights the collaborative effort between private donors and public advocates to build a supportive ecosystem. Beyond the ceremony, the facility will offer families long-term peace of mind, ensuring residents maintain a sense of purpose and belonging as they navigate their adult lives.
