SI Group and Shengxiao Group Launch Biphenol Venture in China

The new entity aims to localize the supply chain for Biphenol, a critical monomer utilized in the manufacturing of liquid crystal polymers and polyphenylenesulfone. By integrating operations in China, the companies intend to shorten lead times for regional clients while diversifying production beyond SI Group’s existing facility in Newport, Tennessee.

Guo Xiaozhong, Chairman of Shengxiao Group, noted that the collaboration addresses the growing regional need for stable monomer supplies. David Bradley, President and CEO of SI Group, emphasized that the move aligns with the company’s multi-region production strategy, ensuring security of supply for global customers. The venture serves as a strategic pivot for both firms to capture market share in industries where advanced material requirements are increasingly complex.
