Lionel Richie Postpones Tour Dates After Onstage Health Scare

A medical emergency at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul has forced Lionel Richie to pause his Sing A Song All Night Long tour. The 77-year-old singer, who experienced sudden dizziness during his opening performance, has been advised by medical professionals to step away from the stage to recover.

The incident unfolded mid-show during a rendition of "Dancing on the Ceiling," when the Grammy winner struggled to remain upright and eventually took a seat on stage. After attempting to continue the set with "Three Times a Lady," Richie announced an unplanned intermission. He did not return, and saxophonist Dino Soldo later informed the crowd that the singer was unwell. Following the event, organizers at Chicago’s United Center confirmed the postponement of shows scheduled for June 26 in Chicago and June 27 in Columbus.

While the specific cause of the episode remains undisclosed, sources close to the performer suggest his relentless work ethic has become a point of concern for his inner circle. Despite the medical directive to rest, Richie remains focused on his audience, reportedly expressing frustration over the interrupted performance. The tour is currently slated to resume on June 30 in Pittsburgh, pending further medical clearance. Richie’s team maintains that the performer is optimistic about his recovery and eager to return to the stage as soon as his health permits.
