Liz McGraw Denies Criminal Rumors Following RHORI Exit

“It’s fascinating to me how everyone assumes my reason for leaving involves being afraid of ‘skeletons’,” Liz McGraw wrote on Instagram this week. The Real Housewives of Rhode Island star is pushing back against online speculation that her departure from the Bravo series was motivated by a hidden criminal past.

McGraw, known to fans as Rhode Island’s “Cannabis Queen,” announced her exit after a single season, citing a desire to focus on her family and professional career. While many viewers expressed disappointment at her departure, a vocal segment of the audience suggested the 56-year-old was preemptively leaving to avoid potential scandals surfacing during future filming. McGraw dismissed these allegations as “preposterous” and “ridiculous,” noting that such gossip has circulated locally for years without any factual basis. She maintained that she has never been the subject of a criminal investigation and warned that she now has the free time necessary to hold those spreading such claims accountable.

Despite her exit from the Rhode Island cast—which includes Ashley Iaconetti, Kelsey Swanson, Rulla Pontarelli, Rosie DiMare, Ashley Carmody, and Jo-Ellen Tiberi—McGraw is not cutting ties with the network entirely. She is set to appear in the upcoming Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, a special anniversary project featuring over 80 cast members from the franchise’s history. The new series, which includes stars like NeNe Leakes, is scheduled to premiere on August 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
