Paige DeSorbo Reflects on Past Domestic Abuse and Public Identity

DeSorbo’s decision to speak out follows her partnership with the Purina Purple Leash Project, an organization dedicated to providing pet-friendly shelters for survivors of domestic violence. In a recent interview, she admitted that for years she kept her past hidden from almost everyone, including close friends, fueled by a deep sense of embarrassment and the fear that others would judge her for remaining in an abusive environment. She noted that the disconnect between her public image as a woman who does not tolerate disrespect and the reality of her past experiences created a persistent internal conflict.

This is not the first time the media personality has addressed the subject. In late 2024, during an episode of her podcast Giggly Squad, she recounted being manipulated and physically abused at age 19, describing the period as a time where she felt fully brainwashed. Reflecting on that history now, she hopes that sharing her story will resonate with her younger fanbase, emphasizing that domestic violence is a reality that transcends public perception or perceived strength. Beyond her advocacy work, DeSorbo has pivoted to new ventures, recently securing a four-year deal with SiriusXM to continue her podcast alongside Hannah Berner as she adjusts to life after seven years of reality television.
