Amazon UK Adds Affirm Installment Payments at Checkout

The new service offers two distinct financing paths for baskets totaling at least £50. Customers may opt for a 0% Pay-in-3 plan, which splits costs into three interest-free monthly installments, or a longer-term financing option extending up to 48 months with a 22% representative APR. These plans are designed without late or hidden fees, and users can manage their payment schedules via the Affirm app or website.

According to Vassil Gedov, General Manager of Payment Products at Amazon EU, the move is intended to provide clear terms and greater control over spending within the existing Amazon interface. Ruth Spratt, UK Country Manager at Affirm, emphasized that the partnership aims to simplify the shopping experience by eliminating late fees entirely. The roll-out will reach eligible customers on Amazon.co.uk over the coming weeks, though financing remains unavailable for specific categories such as gift cards, grocery items, and certain digital content including Kindle books and music downloads.
