Staggs joins the firm with over 20 years of experience in the life sciences sector, most recently serving as CEO of SWK Holdings Corporation. During his tenure at SWK, he oversaw the expansion of the company’s life science finance division and the strategic transformation of its CDMO subsidiary. He replaces Dr. Mimi Fenton, who led the organization since 2024 and oversaw the initial growth of its clinical site network.
Cedar currently operates five research sites across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The network distinguishes itself by embedding research infrastructure directly into community healthcare settings, such as its recent site launch within Texas Native Health. Staggs intends to leverage this delivery model to increase trial access for diverse demographics while strengthening partnerships with biopharmaceutical sponsors. He emphasized a commitment to building a scalable operation that maintains the company’s focus on patient-centered research experiences.
