Umbro and Steven Mena Partner for Southeast LA-Inspired Collection

Designer Steven Mena is bridging the gap between English football history and Southeast Los Angeles street style in a new collaboration with Umbro and retailer WSS. The 23-piece collection, launching in October, aims to fuse traditional pitch aesthetics with the specific cultural identity of the neighborhoods that shaped Mena’s upbringing.

The lineup reimagines classic sportswear through a local lens, featuring jerseys, denim, windbreakers, and hoodies priced between $45 and $120. Mena, who founded the streetwear label MENACE in 2013, designed the collection to reflect the shared pride found in neighborhood rituals and team loyalty. By bringing together Umbro’s century-old heritage and the aesthetic of the barrio, the project seeks to honor how community members integrate sports apparel into their daily lives.

Blanca Gonzalez, SVP and General Manager of WSS, noted that the partnership serves to amplify a creative vision rooted in both sporting history and modern urban culture. The collection will be available exclusively through WSS, with an online launch scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 4, followed by an in-store rollout across all 98 WSS locations on Oct. 7.
