Tigner’s appointment follows his 2026 retirement from Jackson Family Wines, where he served as CEO for over a decade. His background spans the full spectrum of beverage operations, from distributor management to brand development, which he will now apply to the Jalisco-based tequila producer. Wayne Henuset, founder of Paradise Spirits, noted that Tigner’s track record in scaling family-owned businesses makes him a critical addition as the company seeks to capitalize on El Tequileño's current momentum.
Founded in 1959 by Don Jorge Salles Cuervo, the brand maintains production at its historic La Guarreña distillery. Tigner intends to leverage this legacy to deepen the company’s global footprint, which currently extends to 49 countries. He characterized the move as an opportunity to scale a brand that balances traditional craftsmanship with significant international potential, citing the specific production methods involving Los Altos agave and volcanic spring water as key drivers for future growth.
