Between February 23 and 25, 2026, unauthorized actors infiltrated the computer network of Strategic Education Inc., potentially compromising the sensitive personal files of numerous individuals. National class action firm Edelson Lechtzin LLP has launched an investigation into the incident, citing risks of identity theft and financial fraud for affected persons.

The Herndon-based education provider, which specializes in workforce training and degree programs, recently confirmed that the breach may have exposed a wide range of personal identifiers. According to investigative reports, the compromised information potentially includes Social Security numbers, driver's license data, and passport details.

Edelson Lechtzin LLP is now offering free case evaluations to those who received formal breach notifications from the company. The firm intends to determine if a class action lawsuit is warranted to address the privacy failure. In the interim, legal experts advise affected individuals to monitor their credit reports closely and place fraud alerts on their financial accounts to mitigate the threat of identity theft.
