The micro-donation charity Pennies has bolstered its strategic leadership by appointing a cohort of industry veterans to its advisory boards and ambassador program. The new recruits, spanning sectors from cinema to fast-food retail, aim to accelerate the integration of digital giving options into modern consumer payment journeys.
Nicolas Burquier of Pizza Hut International, Burger King UK CFO Tim Doubleday, and Odeon Cinemas Group's Suzie Welch join the hospitality and leisure advisory board. Marjorie Leonidas, a digital commerce leader, joins the retail and services advisory board. The charity also named new ambassadors, including Retail Technology Show director Matt Bradley, Humaine CEO Mike Butler, and The Entertainer co-founder Gary Grant.Pennies CEO Alison Hutchinson noted that the appointees bring long-standing support for the organization’s mission. The expansion comes as the charity seeks to scale its digital micro-donation model during a period of shifting consumer habits. These appointments coincide with a broader industry focus on retail technology, with micro-donations set to feature prominently at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards, scheduled for November 4 at The HAC in London.
