With four decades of experience bridging pharmaceutical operations and high-stakes venture capital, veteran executive Ron Eastman has joined the board of directors at BRC Therapeutics. His appointment arrives as the Monterey-based firm prepares to advance its pipeline of multimodal cannabinoid-based treatments through critical clinical development stages.

Eastman currently serves as a senior advisor at EW Healthcare Partners, where he previously spearheaded investments in notable life sciences firms including ProteinSimple and Revance Therapeutics. His background includes a tenure as CEO of Geron Corporation, where he transitioned the company from a startup to a publicly traded player in oncology. He also led Rinat Neuroscience prior to its 2006 acquisition by Pfizer.

BRC Therapeutics CEO George Hodgin noted that Eastman’s track record in navigating the full lifecycle of drug commercialization will prove vital as the company pushes its assets through clinical trials. Eastman himself pointed to the recent FDA clearance of the IND for BRC-002, an investigational treatment for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, as a primary driver for his commitment to the firm’s mission.
