Seventy-four alumni from Sweden’s KTH Royal Institute of Technology gathered in Dubai on June 12 to bridge academic engineering roots with practical industrial application. The event, hosted by STARTRADER, brought together leaders from AI, fintech, and energy to explore how high-level technical expertise translates into measurable global market value.

The gathering centered on the intersection of KTH’s nearly two-century-old engineering tradition and the rapid evolution of modern financial technology. With KTH currently ranked 74th globally and 37th in Engineering and Technology, the attendee list spanned diverse sectors including blockchain, cybersecurity, and sports business. Discussions were anchored by STARTRADER CEO Peter Karsten, who emphasized the necessity of converting complex machine learning infrastructure into viable business tools.

David Watts, Head of Middle East Strategy and Development at the NBA, provided a counterpoint, detailing how community-driven growth and global partnerships maintain relevance in competitive markets. The exchange included contributions from industry figures such as Nuha Salem, Bahgat Ahmed, and Karthik Iyer, focusing on Industry 4.0 and deep tech implementation across the region. With the global AI trading market projected to hit 33.45 billion USD by 2030, STARTRADER leveraged the event to align its platform development with current shifts toward algorithmic trading, which already accounts for nearly 40% of the market. For the broker, these dialogues serve as a strategic pipeline for refining the MetaTrader and STAR-APP platforms under its multi-jurisdictional regulatory framework.
