At New York’s Governors Ball, DRESSX and Depop debuted an AI-driven virtual try-on experience that allows users to mix and match 300 curated resale items in real time. The collaboration marks a shift in how digital fashion tools are applied, moving beyond studio-shot luxury catalogs into the world of peer-to-peer commerce.

The activation featured the DRESSX Mirror, which enabled guests to assemble personalized outfits—including shoes, bags, and accessories—from a selection of Western, Y2K, and streetwear pieces sourced from Depop sellers. Upon finalizing their looks, participants received digital links via email or text, allowing them to purchase the specific items directly through the Depop platform.

DRESSX co-founders Daria Shapovalova and Natalia Modenova noted that the project addresses the technical challenges of integrating virtual try-on with user-generated content, rather than relying on high-production e-commerce imagery. By making pre-loved items instantly shoppable and interactive, the partnership aims to boost the discoverability of resale fashion for Gen Z audiences. This integration serves as a proof of concept for deploying AI styling tools in community-driven environments, effectively bridging the gap between digital experimentation and circular retail.
