Facing accusations that she is exploiting her late husband’s legacy for profit, Sharon Osbourne has hit back at critics labeling the upcoming AI avatar of Ozzy Osbourne a mere cash grab. She maintains that the technology is a necessary evolution for preserving the rock legend’s memory for future generations.

Addressing the backlash on The Osbournes Podcast, Sharon drew a comparison between the transition from propeller planes to jets and the adoption of modern digital legacy tools. She dismissed claims of financial motivation, asserting that she has no interest in the money of those criticizing the project. According to Sharon, the initiative is about ensuring the Black Sabbath frontman remains a presence for their grandchildren, rather than a commercial endeavor.

Her son, Jack Osbourne, echoed this sentiment, framing the project as a defensive measure to maintain control over his father’s likeness. He argued that if the family did not spearhead the digital recreation, outside parties would eventually do so. Beyond the AI project, the family is working on a biographical film targeting a 2028 release.
