VLS CEO John Magee Named EY Gulf South Entrepreneur Of The Year

Under Magee’s direction, VLS has grown to encompass more than 50 locations and 1,500 employees across North America. The firm has completed 12 strategic acquisitions, entered the Mexican market, and achieved a compound annual growth rate exceeding 40%. Magee credits this trajectory to a culture of accountability and a willingness to challenge conventional industry wisdom.

Prior to his current tenure, Magee co-founded Crane Worldwide Logistics, scaling the startup to nearly $1 billion in annual revenue. His selection by an independent panel of judges qualifies him to compete for the national title this November at the Strategic Growth Forum. If successful there, he will proceed to the global stage for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year competition in May 2027.
