Phil and April Margera spent the evening greeting the cast and crew, with Phil insisting that despite the past tensions, a reconciliation is inevitable. He characterized his son’s current state as fantastic, noting that Bam remains on good terms with much of the original team. For his part, Johnny Knoxville grew visibly emotional when discussing the parents' attendance, stating he remains deeply fond of the family despite the hard lines drawn during the production of previous installments.
The friction stems from Bam’s 2020 departure during the filming of "Jackass Forever" after he breached a wellness agreement. The subsequent legal battle, which included a wrongful termination lawsuit against Knoxville, director Jeff Tremaine, and producer Spike Jonze, ended in a private settlement in 2022. Although Bam recently told CinemaBlend that he harbored lingering resentment over the firing, he did authorize the use of archival footage for the new project. According to his parents, Bam is now prioritizing his health, viewing skateboarding as his primary form of therapy to maintain focus and avoid the pitfalls that previously derailed his career.
